I would probably self-identify as a female rural West Coast (of USA) Caucasian, but that wouldn't include, as labels often don't, my journey from a small monocultural mill town to a solo sabbatical in six countries (in '91). Now I'm on to the exciting sojourn of retirement (from full-time worklife five years ago). I love travel and art and aesthetics, as well as almost all cats and dogs I've met. This blog is just for fun and experimenting with the tools. It should be amusing...

Beachy Times

Two days of sunshine coincided with two breezy days at the beach. Hooray! Michael's fiddle chased the seagulls...and all too soon, we're back in chilly Mt. Shasta.

Spring Trip to Portland and Bandon

While the last snow has probably STILL not fallen around here, we did get away for ten days to Portland and Bandon. Halleluja. Portland was rainy but wonderful with blossoms. Tulips, daffodils and rhodies everywhere. NE Portland is my favorite place 'cause Kathryn lives there, and because there's so much to do on foot. If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do would be to get a little place there.

Here are a couple of my favorite people in Portland & we had a nice brunch at the Cadillac Cafe, once again!
